Terroir: The grapes for this wine came exclusively from the Alto Cantabria vineyard which is almost 300 hectares, planted in 1974 on limestone and sandy loam soils
Winemaking: The grapes begin harvesting during the first week of October. It is then macerated for 24 hours at low temperatures, followed by fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels

Nose: Intense fruity aromas of peach, apricot and white flowers, well-assembled with the spicy notes provided by the oak ageing
Palate: The palate is rounded and well-balanced and has a full, long and very persistent finish
About the Winery:
In 1889, Joaquin Martínez Bujanda first began to grow grapes in Rioja, Spain. Nearly 100 years later, the family expanded their vineyards and began construction of what today is known as Bodegas Valdemar. In 1983, Bodegas Valdemar broke away from the fixed ideas to become the first European winery to control the fermentation temperature. Today, Bodegas Valdemar wines continue to surprise consumers with their uniqueness and are often classified as an authentic Rioja with great ageing potential.
