Organic Farming

Located in the heart of the village of Meursault, the Guy Bocard estate cultivates 5.6 hectares of vines, producing exclusively white wines on each level of appellation.

Although the Meursault appellation has been certified since 1937, the wine-growing history of the Bocard family predates it. In the 1920s, Charles Bocard, Guy’s grandfather, created the family estate. From 1976 to 1983, Guy Bocard bought several plots in Meursault, took over his father’s vines, and created the first winery and then a more modern one at 4 rue de Mazeray in 1987.

Since 2020, René Mora has taken over from Guy, who was his faithful disciple from 1989 to 2001; he had been hired as a grape picker…

Rich in several great experiences in the Côte de Beaune, his reflections led him to reconsider modern viticultural practices: if the conversion to organic farming is an inevitable first step, the plant is cared for to the extreme. : pruning is more respectful of the flow of sap, the rows remain covered and grassy to initiate a virtuous cycle which tends to improve the quality of our vines and our grapes.
