Winemaking: Made using exclusively the Free run juice from Pinotage in order to minimize colour and phenolic extraction from the skins as well as preserve the natural acidity. The juice was settled overnight prior to inoculation with cultured yeast and cold fermented to enhance the aroma and flavour profile of the wine. matured for 1 month on its gross lees in stainless steel tanks. The wine was stabilized using only bentonite and a light filtration prior to bottling

Nose: Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, watermelon, cotton candy and citrus
Palate: The palate is crisp and bursting with flavours of summer fruits, finishing with a distinctive, savoury minerality

About the Winery:
Located in the drop-dead gorgeous Franschhoek Valley, Black Elephant Vintners was born out of synchronicity, fortuitous friendships and a love for wine. Kevin Swart, Raymond Ndlovu and Jacques Wentzel joined skill and grit in an endeavour to bring fun into serious winemaking and to demystify the winemaking process to all enthusiasts.

By eliminating the pomp and pressure commonly associated with wine and applying their raw passion, they created a range of wines with a unique character that appeals to different desires, tastes and occasions – wine for real people.
