Winemaking: A selective hand harvest is followed by a resting period wherein the grapes stand in their own juice for about 8 hours. After the subsequent gentle pressing, a part ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and the other in Palatinate oak barrels
Color: Pale yellow
Nose: Fine herbs and hints of mango and vineyard peach
Palate: On the palate, the Riesling is very juicy, taut, and animating with wonderful depth and a very fine tannin structure on the finish
About the Winery:
The boutique vineyard Albert Glas is settled in the best sites of the southern Palatinate, where third-generation winemaker Dominik Glas creates “joyful pleasures to drink down to the last sip”.
Established in 1958 with just 2.5 hectares of vineyards, Weingut Albert Gras is one with a young, innovative mindset, whilst always striving to remain in close harmony with nature. They practise high reduction in yield and encourage biodiversity in their vineyards for optimal grape production. Today, the winery has expanded to approximately 20 hectares of vineyards that are bustling with life!
