Terroir: The Colchagua Valley is home to the Caliterra Estate, located 200 km south of Santiago and 60 km from the coast at 150 metres above sea level. Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha with approximately 75% of untouched land and a Mediterranean climate, where cool nights and gentle breezes temper the sun’s energy creating perfectly ripe, intense, concentrated and balanced wines. The grapes for this wine were sourced from different blocks within Arboleda’s property/estate. The soil is granitic and white clay, with quartz deep below
Winemaking: 85% fermented in stainless steel tanks and 15% in barrels of 2nd use at temperatures of 24°- 26°C for approx 12-25 days. The blend is then aged in barrels (14% new French) for 18 months

About the Winery:
Arboleda was born in 1999 as part of the shared dream that inspired Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick to realize the potential of Chile as a world-class producer of fine wines. The name “Arboleda” in Spanish means “grove of trees” and is a tribute to the native Chilean trees that have been preserved within the vineyards that produce the Arboleda grapes.

The source of the Arboleda grapes comes from two self-contained estates within the valley. A stunning hillside property some 40kms inland was acquired and planted in 2000 with a selection of red grape varieties. This property was named “Las Vertientes” due to its natural springs of water.

Arboleda red wines aim for complete ripeness, full-bodied with high concentration of fruit, complexity and balance. Arboleda white wines aim to be fresh, and crispy with high acidity and intense aromatics. Therefore the vineyards were planted in 2005 in proximity to the sea, only 14 km from the Pacific Ocean in a property called “Chilhue”.
