Sustainable Farming

I Greppi was founded on the Tuscan coast in 2001 by two of Tuscany’s most famous winemaking families, the Cancellieri and Landini. Although it was purchased by an investment group in 2017, Alessandro Landini, known for the production of Chianti, continues to serve as a consultant to the current owners.

The estate stretches over 14 hectares planted a stone’s throw from the Tuscan coast in the spiritual homeland of the Super Tuscan movement. The farm’s proximity to water creates the ideal conditions for extended ripening: Ventilation from the sea helps to cool the fruit during summer months and keep the grape bunches dry and healthy (free from mildew or rot).

Biodiversity among the vines is bolstered by the presence of two human-made lakes on the estate. Not only do they help to increase the presence of insects and other animals, but they also help to cool the vineyards in summer.
